Jeff Seeney, Owner & Founder of STLRecruit
Jeff graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and immediately passed the CPA exam. He spent 6 years as a practicing CPA advising clients in complex litigation matters on commercial damages and business interruption insurance claims. He also advised clients on Mergers & Acquisitions, tax, etc. While Jeff loved this work, he really didn't want to be deposed for a living.
In 2000, having started college with the goal of getting into sales and marketing, Jeff transformed into a Business Development / Recruiter role with a Fortune 500 Staffing and Consulting company. After 5 years he helped establish and grow two St. Louis centric Executive Search and Consulting firms. He recruited and placed hundreds of permanent, interim and project professionals, primarily Manager to C Level in finance, accounting, supply chain/operations, IT Leadership, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), digital transformation and operational excellence.
From 2015 to 2023, Jeff worked in a national business development leadership role for a Top 30 Global Accounting and Consulting firm. He was instrumental in growing their Missouri practice from 110 to over 200 employees. In the latter years, he identified and oversaw the execution of several engagements related to ERP implementations (selection, re-implementation and optimization), accounting automation, acquisition integrations, operational excellence (lean implementations), shared services optimizations and providing interim leadership resources.
Jeff never stopped networking passionately and helping executives and others in career transition. Having owned the domain STLRecruit.com since 2013, in 2023 Jeff realized a lifelong dream of starting his own firm, STLRecruit.

Jeff Seeney has owned Wire Haired Fox Terriers since he was 2 years old. Most people that know Jeff associate him with the breed. Wire Haired Fox Terriers are known for having extremely high energy, a keen chase instinct, and a low threshold for boredom—the perfect dog for a recruiter. Originally bred in England to hunt foxes, badgers, and boars, Wire Haired Fox Terriers have a reputation for being relentless in their pursuits—just like Jeff in recruiting. One thing they don’t have in common, though, is that Wire Haired Fox Terriers have won Best in Show a record 15 times; Jeff was never much for show!
In August 2024, Jeff was contacted by a rescue group (Midwest Wire Fox Terrier Rescue) to foster Bixby, a 4-year old terrier whose dad had passed away. After just 3 days with Bixby, Jeff called the rescue contact and said, "He's not going anywhere."
Bixby is the perfect Fox Terrier—always at Jeff's side, in his car, and ready for their next adventure.
